Anyone who knows Mark can attest to the fact that he is a man engulfed and inspired, some might say consumed, with the study of great cooking, great winemaking and gracious hospitality!
History
Mark and his wife, Christi, first embarked on their career in innkeeping in 1981, when they opened Carter House. Since then, they’ve made it their mission to provide thousands of guests with fine cuisine, handcrafted wines, and artfully decadent surroundings.
The Carter’s passion for the gourmand’s life has led them to expand their inn repeatedly, open a full-service restaurant, plant one of the largest working kitchen gardens on the West Coast and open a wine shop, whose inventory of outstanding vintages places it confidently among the top cellars in the world. Mark will happily share his experience, study and passion for fine food and wine with 301 Wine Club members. His wine recommendations and selections are always thoroughly researched and highly respected.
